CSR (LSE: CSR) announced that Kristine Overlaur has been appointed to the board responsible for bringing UWB (Ultra Wideband) Bluetooth to the mass market, the WiMedia Alliance. The appointment underlines CSR's UWB technology for worldwide use in mobile phones and other battery powered portable devices, with single chip silicon available in H208 with volume ramping in 2009.
BWE Magazine Wisair's Wireless USB Single Chip Achieves WiMedia Platform Certification
Wisair announced that its WSR601, CMOS single chip was awarded WiMedia platform certification. Covering both MAC and PHY layers, WiMedia certified platforms ensure interoperability and coexistence between products and serve as the foundation for Certified Wireless USB products. This follows upon the WSR601 chip successfully passing WiMedia Physical (PHY) layer compliance and interoperability tests and being designated as a registered PHY in the WiMedia integrators' list last month.
